How to import your .MTS files from your Canon Vixia into FCPX if you've already copied the individual files to your computer. Also a how to use Media Converter to rewrap M2T files from Adobe OnLocation into FCPX friendly mov files.
I have tried using the AVCCAM Restorer app, but it hasn't worked because it doesn;t recognize the files. I of course am trying to restore .MTS files recorded on a Sony that I have been backing up for years.
The rewrapper isn't working for the video, only audio.
@speter32701 Sorry but that doesn't work for me. I've got a directory with some m2ts files from a friend. When I'm importing as you suggested I get a warning : "bad bentheim video 2011" contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media. When using the suggested tool it works fine.
To import MTS (AVCHD) into FCPX, which have been copied to your drive , simply use the "Import From Camera" option. The camera does not need to be connected. When the dialog comes up, select the "Open Archive" button at the bottom. Navigate to your files, and then click import. You will be able to scrub and select the files you want to import into an event. No third party tools required.
MTS Folder structure restore worked well. Thanks a lot!
This is more easy than using a converter from mts to mov. It would be even more easy if FCPX would support reading MTS files direct without needing to restore the SD card folder structure. Magix and Studio do so....
I'm new to this, and thank you, you're the only person I've found that has a real solution for this problem. But I don't have adobe on location, will this method still work for my Vixia HFM31?
helped so much thank you. i subbed and liked
