A ban on the sale/private use of fireworks will only result in a healthy blackmarket in fireworks of unknown origin which may not comply to any safety standards whatsoever which would only end up with more casulaties/fatalities. It's alright saying leave it to the professionals but if you ban consumer fireworks you end up with illegal trade and sale of unsafe lethal potentially deadly fireworks to the the public. Fireworks when used properly according to instructions do NOT cause problems.

If this family had been using said fireworks on a flat surfice (I.E smooth concrete) the firework never would have tipped, which is why my family always uses a flat surface when shooting any firework. This family should have done the same.

I feel for this family but it pisses me off that the NFPA would use this tragedy to push an agenda. Accidents happen. They always have and they always will. There is a lot of fun to fireworks. This country does not need a bunch of Nannies telling us that we shouldn't use consumer fireworks. Disgusting!
