My Cadillac Deville has 245k miles on it. I never had any problem with it since I bought it in 2003. I just came back from a long trip to los vegas. The car get over 28 MPG on highway.
Everything is orignial except the tires and brake pads/rotors and blower motor. The blower motor was faild in 2005. I took the bad motor out and found it was made in Japan.

  • Now if all Deville's held up like this then they wouldn't have such a bad wrap. U got a good one it seems. The majority of owners report many serious and expensive problems with these cars. Northstar eats headgaskets and gobbles oil. Glad you had good service out of yours. If Cadillac's weren't so unreliable statistically, I wouldn't mind owning one.

  • Our 97 Deville with 180k miles gets 23 mpg mixed highway and city. Wouldn't recommend one with high mileage to someone without a good background in mechanics. They need maintenance and you'll go broke taking it in. Getting a set of manuals off the bay helps a lot. Still, a great car that hauls when we need it too. Our pearl white paint and custom rims still turns heads. Remember this ... once you go Cadillac, there's no turning back!

  • my 95 cadillac seville is getting 26.5 mpg and even tho i sometimes rev it and race. it still great on gas. and its a 4.6 northstar.

  • my deville get 28.8 on i5 it just depends on how you drive it

  • see i am from bklyn nyc and cars rarely if anything run 70 plus so it doesn't burn out as fast,I now stay in augusta ga where cars burn out left and right a new car out here yea right purchase a warranty and still get charged for damage, its over hot in the summer and ice cold winter the summer kills cars out hear a caddy wouldn't last with driving all over out here

  • @MrBry329 I changed my oil every 3Kmiles, i maintain my vehicles to the T, and most of the time beyond what the manufacturer quotes in the books. I have had Toyota's last into the mid 300K mile range without burning or leaking oil, without any major replacements, the Caddy, that lasted to 97k miles and died a firey death in traffic in NYC. It simply overheated, and i could not get to the shoulder. I think a lot of this depends on where you drive, no Caddy Northstar is lasting 500K miles in NYC.

  • what people dont understand is if you do repairs by the book you wont have a damn problem that car will probably run 500k before it needs a new engine by that time it will be well needed to..but you got your money worth out the first engine .

  • it last so long cause all the major problem have been replace by the previeose owners caddies are made to last but with a over haul first

  • @stydel311 after that itl last forever
