exhibition/installation by Lisa Temple-Cox at the Benham Gallery, Cuckoo Farm, March 2008.
This exhibition is the bare bones of a new creative process, and the work contained within will be akin to a series of experiments in different languages and media.
I am exploring my sense of rootlessness and displacement, as I attempt to create work with integrity and a personal resonance - without ever giving away anything too personal. In essence, this is a body of works in progress as I circle the real issues behind my recent creative impulses.

The title is taken from an old science book I found in France during a residency at the Chateau de Sacy in 2005. This residency had a profound effect on me, and how I feel about much of my work since then references this experience -- and in French, 'expérience' also means 'experiment'.
