Here we learn blending colors for cool effects, cleaning and oiling. Coming soon in Part 3, blending different fibers together, creating varigated batts for spinning varigated yarns, and more crazy fun! I am waiting for some blending goodies to arrive off of Ebay, so look for Part 3 sometime next week! (7.9 - 7.13.07)
HOT!! (snicker-snort...those who watched the first one will know what this is in reference too...LMAO)

  • Can you spin straight from a batt or do you have to do something else to it? Also, if you card a white batt, can you dye the batt? I would love to try this, but I don't have the time, money, or space.

  • It'd pretty darned frustrating spinning straight from the batt without stretching it out into spinnable "bite-size" pieces. Check out my video Batty Rovings for instruction on how to turn your batts into spinnable rovings. :)

  • I was wondering if blending fiber that has already been made into roving would work well?

My family is a bunch of pasty red-headed irish folks who've sensitive skin, so I usually buy merino. Getting it in a solid color is a bit less expensive, and it'd be nice to be able to blend my own colour combination.

  • Absolutely. You just have to break it off into smaller pieces & fluff it a bit so you don't ruin the teeth on the carder.

  • What kind of a drum carder is this? I got hand cards recently, but I am a producer, and it doesn't go FAST ENOUGH!!!!! Yours looks like it works great, and I want to find one that will effectively blend wool, bamboo and silk etc. Any ideas??

You are great, and I love your personality- not a dull moment in your videos!! Keep it up. Love the super speed....

  • You are awesome! i ♥ your videos!

  • Perfect video for me and my daughter--while watching this she said, "Woooo! I LIKE to DANCE!!!" (While strutting her moves.)

  • Great, helpful videos!! You're hysterically funny! If you and I got together we'd just laugh all day and crack each other up!!! Thanks for the helpful vid!!! Now I know how my carder ACTUALLY works! Better than the $25 book!!!

  • Awesome! Thank you for your wonderful videos! You are such a great personality. Love it!

  • Congratulations on 15,000 views. I've watched this demonstration several times and it's quite helpful. Well done!

  • Thanks for the making and posting these videos! In Part 1 I especially liked bamboo placemat trick. I'm finding Part 2 incredibly helpful because I bought my Patrick Green drumcarder used and it came without the manual, dofer, or cleaner brush. Now I know how to maintain my carder and take care of it better!
