The candidates for Deputy Leader of the Labour Party have taken part in an innovative husting session using the video-sharing site YouTube.com.

The Guardian's Political Editor, Michael White put the questions you submitted to the six candidates via Labour:vision, Labour's YouTube channel.

The YouTube husting will be the last husting event before the Leadership Conference on Sunday 24 June.

  • happy my question got asked, how would they link up with sister parties abroad to share learning about the burning issues so we can shape Europe together. The answer given - adopting the Swedish approach where ministers have to devote 14 days to their party outside of campaigns. Having visited the young social democrats as part of our campaign exchanges, I would certainly devote 14 days in Sweden! Any other ideas on how we can learn from abroad?

  • Shame my question didn't go to Cruddas, but I'm glad it was asked...

  • Was funny but you mustn't have seen Boris Yeltsin conducting a german orchestra then!;o)

  • No the reason we don't legalise cannabis is because it has been proven in any number of SCIENTIFIC studies that mental problems are augmented by cannabis.

  • In this day and age for people to still belive in religion and worse still politicians is beyond absurd in 100 years we will look back and say what were those idiots thinking. And that harriet supporting faith schools... WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE INSANE lets increase seperation and teach lies because yes minister the earth is only 6 thousand years old. What a bunch of no principal self serving idiotic scum.

  • I really enjoyed this but sadly sent my votes in last week seeing as the closing deadline was today :/

  • Great forum and most candidates came across well. Probably should be either Tony, Alan or Peter. So glad Hilary is "not a bennite"!!

  • Poor peter..

  • haha... thanks, but yet again you are guilty of not actually answering the question! I have nothing but your personalities to differentiate you by, which is not very political.

  • Harriet and Benn really showed their savvy and Cruddas showed his youth(lol). G. Brown's going to need a lot of help, but no worries, they all seemed to know what they believe and where they want to take the party. The laid back atmosphere was refreshing as well.
