I did a little spirited driving after spending a day in my garage changing the timing belt. The car is a 1995 Toyota Tercel with a 4-spd manual. It's hard to see in the video, but I hit 6200 rpm in 1st gear and 5400 rpm in 2nd. Sorry for the rattling noise, it's from the way I had the camera mounted.

  • i may be getting this as a first car. is this stock sound? do u think a muffler would sound good on it?

  • @zacheryds I'm not too sure that an aftermarket muffler would sound good on a Tercel. Mine is stock. They're great cars, but there aren't as many performance parts for them compared to other cars.

  • idiota

  • @matarilemaricon Really? Thanks.

  • yousal, Tercel's are nice, and better than your non-running mopehed sitting out front in your mom's driveway.

  • @ThuGfunk I agree, but it's not adjustable.

  • hey man i put a 0-60 video of my tercel, u should check it out and comment:)

  • Love my 95 Toyota tercel , has a 3 speed auto trans with a 1.5 ltr engine the car has over 400,000 miles on it all original and I drive it every where to this day even take long road trips with it :)

  • Stupid

  • @NotYour94Ranger English ? All the 4 gears are synchronized ! Reverse is not.

  • I've been considering buying a Tercel, but think it might be too small and low to the ground to get in and out of. The 2 door might be better with a longer door and I'm thinking maybe a 99. Hearing that these manual transmissions get tired is worrisome since most used are very high miles and the Tercel seems rare in the used market. Too bad they stopped making them. The tail end reminds me of a later model Civic. Echo is a fugly POS and Yaris costs more than it's worth as well....even used.

  • @gtuani His second gear is for all intents ans purposes unsynchronized, so he has to double clutch it, like transmissions of old.

  • @mtheis85 You don't have to double clutch because your syncro are worn out. You just have to enter in-gear at the right RPM without using the clutch.

  • @mtheis85 hey bro i was wondering if u could do another one of your driving videos with this same camera angle could you please it would be great if you could
