Can you post the Arabic text of this hymn? It's beautiful!

@bolix67 "Today is Born of the Virgin."

@albertcorn This hymn is chanted in the Orthodox Church. The Orthodox Church is in not a denomination, but is the church founded by Christ and the Apostles and so precedes denominations.

@RJFerreiro The Greek word, "Προσκυνούμεν" (Proskynoumen) in the original hymn means "venerate"/"adore" and also possesses the connotation of bowing down before someone/thing (bowing down not necessarily equating to worship). It differs from "λατρεία" (latreia), which is worship. "Proskynoumen" often gets rendered "worship" in translations which is especially problematic theologically when it is afforded to persons other than God. Worship belongs to God alone.

hello, can someone send me the arabic text, and the denomination of the liturgy where this carol is song (catholics?)
tnx, god bless
Does it literally mean "We worship Thy birth?" Or is the meaning more akin to "We worship Thee in (or at) Thy birth?"
Just curious, because those can be taken very differently.

@RJFerreiro It is Thy Birth. To signify a breach of nature that occurred with the Divination of human flesh in this event. With God, an act can be worshiped when it is a Personification of Himself existing. It is eternal. There are no intermediaries in this event. No angels or saints doing His work.
An example of God being an act in scripture is when He describes himself as I AM WHO AM to Moses or HE WHO IS. The act of existing. This narrative is a prophecy of the Nativity.
God Bless.
