A string of endangered R38s on the C Train pull in to the 81st Street Museum of Natural History Station. The R38s are slowly being killed off from the C an being made into artificial reefs. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on December 4th, 2008.
I miss the R 38s. They were great cars and far better than the pieces of junk they have the R 160s. The R 38s could have lasted a few more years!

R38s are back on the A, but they will be the first cars retired by the R160s, set to go in February 2009

"all R38s once on the A have been retired". Not true. I saw an R38 A train today (12/16/08). But they are very rare now and dying off quickly

next year, all R42s on the E will be moved to the A to replace the R38s. the E will then use R32s and either R46s or R160s.

pullman is still here, but they no longer build subway cars, just freight cars. i do not blame the R46 problem on them. it is totally the MTA's fault for not testing the new trucks just to save a few dollars. st louis and the R44s, though, that is a different story.
