Trade Invaders: big business driving the EU-India trade talks

India and the EU launched negotiations for a far-ranging free trade agreement (FTA) in 2007. They aim to conclude the deal in 2011. The video shos how, in the negotiations, the EU Commission and the Indian government have handed the agenda over to corporate lobby groups. This big-business-first agenda will put at risk the livelihoods of millions of small farmers, street traders and patients.

I don't think there is a problem in having an India-EU trade deal. Rather it will make world better. Both India and EU are democratic. Hence there shall be the free exchange of capitals, goods and services. Above all there shall be the free exchange of ideas. Heance I'm in favour of this agreement.

Is it?Fisher folk will work in larger fisheries companies or fish where licences have not been bought and street traders will work in super markets.Do you have street traders in Europe?NO.Another thing is all these insecurities come from European ppl and Indians afraid of losing their jobs....Especially the UK.We are buying up your companies.You can come here with FDI in retail and farming and we come there with our manufactured goods and services.Say what?I am looking forward to India-EU FTA
