I don't know if Cinema Paradiso is the best movie I have ever seen, but is definitely my favourite, my most treasured. It makes me feel so many emotions: nostalgia, sadness, joy and laughter. A big mention should go to the genius Ennio Morricone, his score is in my opinion the most beautiful in cinema history.

Great movie with a splendid plot. I offen thought did Alfredo do the right thing. He knew that Salvatore will have a great future in cinema. He also knew that Sal's love for Elena will curtail his career path. Was it right thing to do that Alfredo purposely not giving the note to Elena where she can find Sal so both can elope. Yes, Salvatore became a great film director but he never could have the woman he loved. So is this the big sacrafice he must make.
