MST3K - Favorite Moments - Invasion USA

Invasion USA dares to ask the question: Can you hypnotise people with a glass of cognac?
The answer is a big; YES, you can!
A hypnotist by the rather subtle name, Ohmen, hypnotises a group of people in a bar and makes them go through a spontaneous WW3 which ends up killing all of them in various ways.
This is of course only to teach them a valuable lesson - We must prepare for war in order to preserve peace - in case the Russians should somehow manage to transport their entire army through Canada without anybody looking up, going: "Hey, wait a minute..."
This gave the movie makers yet another reason to throw tons and tons of stock footage at an unsuspecting audience.
Invasion USA is preceded by one of the scariest shorts ever in MST history: A Date with your Family.
There are no comments to add to this creepy short that isn't covered by Mike and the bots.

Ha-hee-ho-ha! That was a great one. The Family bit was good but the Invasion was wonderful. I like the surprise nuking of the air base. Twice! D'oh!

I find it odd at how great lenght the makers of the film went to avoid naming 'the enemy'. I dare you to find *one* direct mention of Russia or the Soviet Union in the entire film. Has anyone an explanation for this?
