Prophet Muhammad (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLIM) said "There is no marriage of a women except with will of "WALI" (the plural of which is "AWLIYA") which means protector, guardian.

so Wali in Arabic language has several meanings and the best one for that Ayat/ Verse is protector.

People came to islam not on Sword but on beutiful attitude, and preaching and kindness to humanity.

But you are un-aware of the fact that this don't mean that Muslims can't have business deals with them, can't smile when they meet, can't return there greetings (Can't initiate Salam but other appropriate words are there and can even reply salaam when they start it).

(Cont) The verse (in congration with other verses) of Quran is clear in its Message that it is proven that Jews and Christians will not bear that Islam and Muslims spread there true message of peace, because they know they have malined there religeous books with lies, and these muslims can reveal them. Moreover they, if left without check will take over masses of people with there pure message.

Let me tell you the rule first:

If you take out one single Verse from any Regligeous Book, and try to interpret it in separation of other verses of that topic, you will go astray, and will not be able to find out true meaning.

This verse is Situational...

Allah order us to offer Prayer 5 times a day... then He Himself says don't go near to Prayer when you are drunk.... So this is situational... Women don't pray in mensis...

so you see if you have a situation, Allah give other options (cont)
