This is a video of my conversion of a static display model of the Disney Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea to R/C operation. The unit has a fully functional gas ballast system and a custom-made gimbaled prop assembly for pitch control without the need for dive planes. Buy your own at www.nautilusdrydocks.com!

  • What device do you have to trim the rudder? ive been wanting to pick one up from the drydocks.

  • I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean by "trim the rudder". Shoot me an email with more info and I'll be glad to help you out: bob(at)rc-sub.com

  • What kind of radio range do you have with it being under water? Thanks for taking my question. Great post!

  • You'll typically get more range than you need. I've been down to 20' with no issues. Obviously, the further away you get, the shallower you'll need to be. Fresh water works great, though.

  • That is the best Nautilus build I have ever seen. Great job on the video too.

Love the fact that you used Taccota fugue in D minor.

My all time favorite movie Sub.

  • Seu trabalho é maravilhoso, é uma verdadeira obra de arte, como gostaria de poder comprar essa maravilha de submarino.

seria possível enviar os desenhos para se construir os comandos

  • I'm on a budget you look you know what's going on there's a book on subs I can buy too.Range is still a bit scary for me too.with airplanes when the craft goes down a noise alarm goes off it'a activates on loss of signal. The beep can be instead for an emergency ballast blow.It works on a 9V battery and is cheap.Nice model and it's cheap the rest will take effort I'm sure hope you've tried the new brushless stuff.A big scale would be nice :D

  • Never seen anything like the tilting propshaft, I would be interested in learning more.

  • WOW! Hats off to you!
