On November 8, 2009, Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) spoke on the House floor in favor of H.R. 1319, the "Informed P2P User Act," sponsored by Congressman Barrow, along with Congresswoman Bono Mack (CA-45) and Congressman Barton (TX-6). The bill would require P2P users be made aware of the security risks associated with using these programs, and would allow them to easily delete these programs if they no longer wish to have them installed. The bill passed by voice vote and will now head to the Senate for its consideration.
