I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Francis Ford Coppola winemaker, Corey Beck, to chat about all things California. Beck has a richer history with California wine than most. As the grandson of a former Chateau Montelena vineyard manager, Beck has been tending to vines since the early 1970s! In addition to giving a recap of the 2009 vintage in Northern California, he provides us with some early insight into the 2010 vintage, which emerging California appellation we should watch for, and explains why Malbec is not only for Argentina anymore.
