Monday came around quickly everyone was happily eating breakfast as Miley was flaunting her new purple outfit.
"Miley, please sit down and eat your breakfast," her mom insisted.
"Sorry." she stopped dancing around and sat down to finish her eggs. "I just love my new clothes."
"Whoa, Nick slow down, that's a fork not a fork lift," Mr. Carter spotted. Nick looked up at his dad, his cheeks stuffed with scrambled eggs. "What's got you racing against time Son?" he asked sipping his coffee.
Nick gulped. "Sorry. I'm just excited to tell Frankie about the tickets."
"Oh, is he the one youre inviting?"
"Yeah. Hes totally into sports..."
"Oh, Mom I uh, won't be here after school." Selena interjected.
"Why not sweetie?"
"I'm helping some students uh, tutoring..." Selena smiled.
"OK, have fun."
"Oh my gosh! I totally forgot!" Miley screeched.
"What honey?" Mrs. Carter asked.
"Ok, well I auditioned for the school production, and I got the lead!"
"Congratulations! We can't wait to see the show."
"Thanks! So I wont be home, I've got practice."
"Well, we'd better get a move on," Demi hinted. "Come on guys..."
Everyone got, up and disposed of their dishes in the dishwasher.
"Bye!" their parents shouted.
"Bye! Thanks for breakfast!" they all waved.
On the walk to school, Demi and Selena were slowly trailing behind.
"So are you really tutoring?" Demi sheepishly asked.
"No. Of course not. I'm going to a dance lesson." Selena smirked.
"So why didn't you just say so?"
"Because..." Selena sighed. "TOO many people think dancing and cheerleading are the same thing-"
"But they are..." Demi interrupted.
"NO THEYRE NOT!!!" Selena raised her voice. "Dancing is suave and etiquette and it takes intense training and dedication. Cheerleading is a bunch of girls in skimpy outfits, flouncing around, cheering boys on. TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS Demi" Selena put her hand on her hips gave Demi a serious look.
"OK, OK, they're different, I'm sorry... so to answer my question in the first place, why didn't you tell mom the truth?"
"Because it would bring chaos to this house. Miley would tease the life outta me, by saying Im one of her clone thingies, Mom and Dad wouldnt be too happy that I signed up to a dance class with out permission, and they would be mad that I want to dance more than I want good grades and a scholarship..." Selena nagged.
"Uhgh!" Demi complained. "I'd rather here you babbling about how dancing and cheerleading are two different things"
"Oh, OK Well-"
"I was being sarcastic."
Demi and Selena stopped and looked at each other, and laughed.
As they entered the school, Miley, Nick, Selena, and Demi stopped at their lockers.
"Wow... what? It's been like 15 minutes since youve seen your self?" Demi asked annoyed.
"SO?" Miley said fluffing her hair. "It doesn't hurt to look good, you never know who youre gonna encounter..." Miley slammed her locker and was off, catching up to her jabbering friends. "Hey girls! Wait up!"
"Hey whats all the fuss about?" Nick asked putting away his textbooks, getting on his tip toes to see over the crowd.
Everyone in the hall gasped and moved aside for the oncoming students.
"Oh My Gosh!" Demi whispered, stunned.
"Is that?" Selena gasped rapidly blinking.
"It is" Nick replied not moving a muscle.
"Hey guys" Joe whispered.
"JOE! What happened?"
"My-my brothers and I were tossing a football around Saturday night, and K-Kevin told me to go long." Joe started talking quickly, "The only thing is, it was getting late, and so I was running, and I didnt see the little dip we have in our yard. I ran to catch the ball and I fell in it and messed up my ankle. I had to go to the hospital, and thats how I ended up on these stupid crutches." Joe sheepishly smiled.
"Im so sorry" Demi rubbed his arm.
"Yeah, Joe thats a real shame, Im sorry that happened" Selena added.
"Yeah, and this double book holding thing is really heavy" Frankie complained.
"Do you need some help?" Demi asked.
"Im good" Frankie huffed.
"Oh, Frankie youll never guess!" Nick excitedly shouted.
"Make it quick man, Im about to collapse"
"My Dad got me tickets to a Cowboys game!!! And I have an extra ticket just for you!"
"NO WAY!" Frankie dropped his and Joes books onto the floor, spilling everywhere and knocking Joe to the floor.
"AH!" Joe screamed.
JOE! Demi and Selena yelled. They dropped their book to help Joe up.
Oops. Frankie bent down to pick up the cluttered mess. The tardy bell rang and everyone scattered off. Frankie picked up the large stack off books and helped Joe to his class. Ill seeya at lunch, tell me more then he trailed off.
OK! Nick waved. Later! and he was dashing to science.
Bye! Demi yelled. Come on lets get to class Demi grabbed Selenas shoulder and gently tugged her along. They were talking all the way to History.
