  • LOOK! the greatest bass player to ever exist is doing something awesome, nows the perfect time to zoom in on the drummer!

  • Didn't they dig the tapes of this out of someone's basement? That the Stones got so horribly upstaged by the Who that they couldn't see this released?

  • @tmdpc It's not that they cut, it's when the cut. John is singing his part at the climax of the song and they zoom in on Keith's back. It's just retarded. Cammera men will never focus on John. On the Live at Killburn DVD, John's taking a solo, so the cammeras zoom in on Pete, who is lierally pointing to John as if to say "Over there, assholes!".

  • The awesome begins at 4:40...

  • @abt7217tc So, you are mad because they cut away from John Entwistle to focus on Keith Moon? Who many consider to be the greatest drummer to ever exist?

    Dude....

  • @therealdude1 You are correct, sir. They actually wanted a trio of cellos, but IT WASN'T IN THE BUDGET for the LP, hence the "cello, cello, cello" vocal chorus.

  • @burf69 I read somewhere back when the footage was actually shot, that there was a water tubing deal rigged up to shoot the H2O out of some of Keith's drums during the "climax" of the song. I also seem to recall that the first take of the song wasn't used, because the water gig didn't work right. There is also some speculation that some of the shots of Keith were used from takes 1 and 2. The soundtrack, though, is intact from what I guess is Take 2.

  • @TheCaptinblue That is PRECISELY what happened. Stones (ABKCO) got pressured to release it in 2004 as a retro-Stones product. The Stones weren't that bad in their segments, but The Who were UNTOUCHABLE. This version of "Quick One" is one of my favorite things in the world.

  • @UniversalCaitlin I could not agree more. I have never seen ANYTHING, musical or otherwise that is as pure as this.

  • i now know the meaning of life. It's to sit and watch this.

  • 2 people will not soon be home.
