  • I don't think this is just the director trying to be different. It has a meaning. The angels are supposed to be either toys or woodland creatures looking over them. But either way, it is a beautiful production with a meaning to the ballet. Not just 14 little girls running around with wings. The angels are bringing them what the really want. Their parents loving them and giving them food. It's very moving... if you allow yourself to recognize beauty. Opera is art. Art is progressive.

  • FOOD! I love the dramatic music that leads to that... =)

  • I wish my sandwich did that. = (

  • great idea for the dream sequence. and they play it so lovely!!!

  • @lancelot577 I think the angels were dream images of the sleeping children - they`ve probably seen chipmunks in the wood through the day and while sleeping they blended with concept of the angels they prayed to in the beautiful prayer. I think it`s moving as well. And whoever thinks there`s a lot of creepiness in the production... well, fairytales are supposed to be a lil` creepy.

  • You are kidding. These chipmunk angels make me laugh. The music is that gorgeous and than one sees this ridiculous nonsense. I do prefer the original treating of the libretto - with the golden stairs and the angels desecending in order to guard the sleeping children. The London production is awful Regietheater crap.

  • beautiful! this scene let me cry!

  • What a marvellous production!
