  • Moffo and Konya were both wonderful in this video. He was a favorite of mine

when he was on the Met Opera House roster for the sheer beauty of his voice

no matter what language he sang in. In her prime Moffo was terrific.

  • Had her voice held FIRM for a few more years, she could have recorded it with a young Placido Domingo for RCA. Oh, well...... She is still VERY good year, and so is Konya!

  • Is she beautiful! Yes she is made for the french repertoire! But her Italian rep is incredible..

  • Moffo's French roles were just as wonderful as her Italian roles. I remember a beautiful Melisande with Gedda and London and an exquisite Manon at the Met.

  • obviously, some people had a need to rate this with less than '5 stars'... hope they keep their day jobs...

  • Why does this take so long to load??? I got tired waiting for it!!! I love Moffo!

  • Extremely beautiful.

  • Konya is a standout Spinto tenor, could sing Puccini one night in butterfly and Wagner the next. He was Hungarian but did sing at the met and died in Spain in 02' at age 79 yrs. old Bravo! Thanks for this.

  • The HD broadcast of Romeo et Juliette was shown on PBS last night, with Anna Netrebko. She reminds me a lot of Moffo, in terms of looks, but lordy, how I wish Moffo had recorded this opera! And Sandor Konya is new to me and I think he's wonderful.

  • Beautiful. Too bad she never recorded this complete for RCA. Sandor Konya is also wonderful.
