Flying Legends - 11th and 12th July 2009
Flying Legends - two words which instantly evoke the very best of classic aircraft displaying at Duxford in one of the world's most celebrated air shows. The Fighter Collection and the Imperial War Museum are proud to present the 2009 event; another unmissable fusion of power, sounds and nostalgia.

  • Thank you, thank you......THANK YOU !!!!

Aviation history brought back to life.

In 1941, the FW-190A was the best fighter in Europe.

    5 STARS !

  • Gotta love that sound. This looks like it was designed to maneuver easily. A beautiful plane. Thanks for uploading.

  • @rampking1 yeh out gunned and out classed lol

  • Beautiful

  • @traxel14 uhhhh, only after the Luftwaffe pilots shot at bomber parachutes. Please give me links as to your sources. I'd like to read them.

  • @traxel14

Both sides shot at airmen in parachutes.

  • @osu67 Sure, you are absolutly right! But don´t forget that they shot a very great number of German pilots hanging in their parachutes, after the pilots tried to jump to safety. That is a fact, as has been remembered in many american books of mustang and / or thunderbolt pilots.

  • Yeah, the FW190, our best fighter airplane in WW2. Also known as the butcher bird or würger. For my opinion, this airplane was the most beautiful of all and the overall performance was awesome. I like the sound of the original BMW 801D, 14 cylinder radial engine. To bad that only a handful of them remains.

  • @kennethHaugan

Three of the new-build examples were converted to D-series for potential customers. At least two are being used to build flying examples, but it will be a number of years before they are finished (if they are finished.)

  • I hope thay will make the D veriant too.

  • COOL!

  • Not an opinion from me, a collective opinion from the British RAF.
