I loved my GTI. It wasn't the best car for Chicago though. Too many pot holes, low profile tires, and 18 inch rims gave me 7 flats and 5 bent rims. I put smaller tires/rims on the car and everything was better. The Check engine light was ALWAYS on since I bought the darn thing! First gear was weak, but 2-6 was OUTSTANDING. The car just kept going!

dude please. its obvious you own a C30. The GTI would decimate the C30 around the track and would be faster bolt on for bolt on. And you don't have to deal with the disgusting and uninspired Volvo styling and interior bits.

i have a GTI mk5 and it rarely lags on me
-
old comment, but the turbo boost comes maximum at 1800rpm all the way to 5k rpm.
If you're comparing it to c30 T5 with 2.5 turbo, then yes GTi have a little more lag. ur c30 turbo starts at 1600 and ends at about 4000rpm. This is due to bigger displacement.
Are you driving the edition30 or Pirelli one? they use k04 turbo a much bigger turbo than the standard k03, and have definitely more lag. but more power.
And most 4 cyl turbo car will have lag, unlike 6 cylinders twin-turbos.
-
this guy is a moron. gti's are KNOWN to have practically no lag.
-
i have it and it does have a little lag...but its still quite good
-
plain and simple, you just dont know how to drive turbo charged cars nor do you know how to drive period.
-
well, little man, sounds like you're angry you bought the wrong car, haw bout you stop taking it out on people with an opinion.
i own a gti, and there is little to no turbo lag. its filled with torque is almost un-noticeable
