Drummer, Marc Edwards bring a new group to the current local New York Free Jazz scene. His VorteX Trio features veteran musicians: Tenor Saxophonist, Sabir Mateen and Bassist, Gene Janas of Special Forces. Marc kicks the bass drum almost sending it in an upward direction. Keep your eye on the bass drums while he's playing. This is also one of the first video of Marc Edwards filmed from a real camcorder. All of the musicians are in fine form. people need to pay attention to marc edwards. this guy is the last great drum behemoth from the first waves of free jazz. if you pay lip service to milford graves, rashied ali, beaver harris, rashied sinan, don moye, andrew cyrille and the others but don't know marc's work, you're MISSING OUT.
