Hi, it wasn't me who made this video, it was a man called P Hanyane. If you click the link in the video description you will go to his youtube page. He has the same video up but with more comments.

I think it would be easy to make a model or prototype quite cheaply with meccano or lego and some household objects . Thats all you need to demonstrate the concept. For the electrical parts somewhere like maplins if you are in the UK is good, or just an electronics retailer.

Your technology or physics teacher would be able to advise you on how to make it and may be able to supply parts. Just keep any electrical or electronic parts out of the water or they will malfunction or give you an electric shock.

For a cheap model of this I think it would cost between £10 to £15.

it can work if made large enough connect it to a flywheel ... also the land part should be on an incline so on the "down stroke" it pulls the buoy down as it goes to reset place. the energy is only converted on the "up" stroke of the buoy ... but that is fine as long as the system is cheap....

try to make one ... you'll notice a lot of things :)
