This is part four of a multipart series where we will be comparing the Bushmaster ACR to the FN SCAR 16S. The ACR and SCAR are two top contenders for the up coming military trails to select a replacement for the Colt M4 service rifle. The Bushmaster ACR and FN SCAR 16S have many similar features and several differences.

In this video I compare the accuracy between the rifles, remove their barrels, replace them and check for zero hold.

  • The ACR... I actually like the idea behind it (and the SCAR), but Bushmaster just cluster-fucked the hell out of it. Heavy govt profile barrel, 1/9 twist (really, Bushmaster?) non-modular pistol grip (minor thing, but still...) and a massive price tag to boot. I'll be honest, it's an AR-18 action in a new shell, but if it came out at 1500 bucks with folding stock, LW 1/7 twist barrel and a decent rail set up, then it would have fared better.

  • @RaderizDorret The ACR isn't that bad. The barrel is something that either Bushmaster can remedy with a pencil barrel, or any number of 3rd parties can remedy for you by modifying a pencil AR barrel to work with the rifle, it's pretty simple. The pistol grip not being removable isn't an issue for me. The barrel twist, again, is easily remedied given it takes seconds to swap the barrel out yourself. The price... that's just the reality of today's market.

  • had an ACR. I got rid of it. I had two slam fire issues with the rifle. Each time I sent it back to bush master. Did not feel like doing a three strikes your out category.

  • I think the XCR should also be thrown into this test, especially now that they gave it some upgrades.

  • ogres cant handle small guns to good lol

  • personly i dont think the scar is not even quite the gun of its earlier brother the fnc its twice the gun the scar is!!

  • oh at 100yrds

  • and whats up with him taking his time on sqeezing the trigger on the scar and not so on the acr on testing, watch it again between shots, i happen to own an acr an mine shoots around 1 moa with xm193 and half that with hornady tap 55 gr. amax with an 4 / 12 x scope anymore testing and he'll half t be timed on disasimbly hmm which would when that??

  • i think the tester or socialist is byest to the scar it seems to me he tried to redeem the scar by saying that when he changed the barrel he may have pulled , but then he clams he didnt but to justify his oppinion or {his favorite] he had to redeem the scar by shooting it again and i would also state the fact that the camera screen stopped went to another clip , but the acr barrel removel video neer stopped so to me that looks suspicios i mean its not like the ppl making the video ran out of vid

  • Excellent video! Concise, objective, and thorough. Thanks! We have the MK 17 ( SCAR-H) at work. It's a good answer to a serious deficiency. In terms of ergonomics, it outperforms the M14. I just don't feel that the MK 16 or ACR is truly that much better when compared against the AR-15, especially given the formers cost and lack of aftermarket support.

  • Another good rifle to compare with these two might be the Rock River Arms PDS Carbine.
