  • The cleaning product you used is worth more than the penny you used it on. Cleaned or uncleaned, you have a coin that's worth $0.01

  • @HaloKiller17 Why 1920?  Seems a rather arbitrary date.

  • @jghorsesrule6991 True, the best "cleaner' is probably distilled water and olive oil. They do minimal damage if used properly. 

  • @mountainviewcoins No, you should clean coins to remove things like dirt but you should take great care in how you clean them. The objective isn't to make the coin shiny (which is only possible by damaging it if it is a old coin), but rather to remove the dirt so it is "cleaned". You have to make sure you don't remove or alter the color of the patina (if the coin is old) otherwise value will decrease.

  • @KrazyTea8 its old because its a year before he was born. However i got some 1940s coins but i dont know if i should clean them.

  • the only way to clean a coins is whit corn oil, is helpful if the coin have a good value becouse takes a long time depending on the state of the currency
