On the "Ruta Mangoreana" , or Barrio trail, visiting places important to the history of Agustin Barrios Mangore: Villa Florida, Paraguay, one of the places where Barrios lived as a child.

After crossing the river by rowboat to Villa Florida, and greeted by the entire town, Renata Green & I are taken by horse-drawn cart to the Diaz School, for a press conference, and are given "Illustrious Visitor" commendations.

Also in this video is Carlos Salcedo of the Agustin Barrios Project in Asuncion, Paraguay; James Russo of the US Embassy in Paraguay, and filmmaker Agu Netto.

Interestingly, Villa Florida and other towns in the Misiones region of Paraguay will be the site of the next film by Avatar director James Cameron..

From May 1-13, guitarist Tony Morris and flutist Renata Green served as US State Dept. Cultural Envoys to Paraguay, for a series of concerts, masterclasses, press conferences, meet-and-greets, and other events designed to foster goodwill between the peoples of Paraguay and the United States of America.
