This is Part of a series video diary following my lumbar fusion surgery. I hope this helps someone know kind of what to expect from this or a similar operation. I hope this helps. Good luck and God Bless!

  • Interesting Videos! I had a Spinal Fusion about 3 weeks after yours (Dec. 29th 2009). I had the L4-L5-S1 fused. Glad to hear your legs a feeling better - I hope that means your surgery was a success. You were in very high spirits for being in your situation...

In contrast to your operation, I remember feeling no pain what-so-ever until about noon, 2 days after the op....then it was awful.

  • Thanks for watching a posting. If you have time shoot me a message regarding your progress so far. How are you feeling? any details.

    Thanks

  • How long was you in the hospital?! I've had 2 fusions & was in the hospital for only 24 hours!!!

  • I was in the hospital for about five days I believe. Surgery was on a MOnday and I went home on Sat I think. HOwever, I had an infection/reaction and was back in the hospital that same Saturday. I remained there for another 5-7 days. I felt like I lived in the hospital. I was sick of being there I finally persisted that the doc let me go home. Thanks for commenting!

  • Check out my story on my blog. cervicalspinalfusion.blogspot

  • Thanks!

  • You're doing so well.

You can check your post surgery progress any time and give a bit of idea to others.

  • When I had my posterior entry L-5, S-1 fusion, I couldn't move, the pain hurt so bad. Never once did Physical therapy come to walk me, or no shower, hand bath or nothing. This was at Grant Medical in Columbus Ohio. My Doctor did a great job. After what happened, all the Doctors from the Ortho Neuro Group built their own Hospital in New Albany, Ohio, a posh place to have it done There they take care of you.
