Sadly, many people will focus on Matthew 16:18 ("upon this rock I will build my church") to the exclusion of all other references to the word "church" in Scripture.

As a result, we have people who are more interested in promoting their denomination than they are with bringing people to Christ.

I believe if we have a proper understanding of what the church is, and how one becomes a member, we will never again fall into this error.

  • There is far too much to teach about Jesus so I do just point them to the Church.

  • @AtomicMonster454 - Why not point them to the Bible?

  • one more question.

If you tell your child not to do something and they do it, punishment will follow. But how long should the punishment last? Forever, After all its just a child right? Why tempt a child to fail? Like leaving a candy in plain sight and within reach. The setup is to fail the punishment lasts forever...Not a very forgiving god...why put a tree their in the first place? To test free will? Malevolent is what it sounds like...

  • @moztecka You are forgetting the plan of redemption that was there from the start as well. When people have children, they do so knowing those children will sometimes fail them. Hopefully they won't decide not to have them just because they know they won't be perfect.

  • Division, division, division...that's what you protestants do best!

  • stuart20017-Did you watch the entire video?

  • The Bible is a part of the church, just like oral tradition, writtings of the church fathers etc. Nothing missed.

  • I have a few questions.

    God gave us freewill correct?

I have been told the only of his creations to wield this(freewill), yet angels went against gods plan showing free will right?

Also if given freewill we pick and choose what right or wrong we will do.

So then why blame figures like Lucifer?

    We control ourselves right?

  • Just read the bible and argue it out with the people in your church ,I did

  • Ekklesia means "a gathering" or "an assembly." Yes like many Greek words it combines two earlier words; ussually however these new words take on meanings that differ from the sum of the two words.

  • Amen!

  • There are 22 churches in communion with Rome. Where you got this 242 number is beyond me. As for your other comments just demonstrates you lack of informed knowledge of the RCC.
