The amazing performance Jean gave as Young Estella in the 1946 film version of "Great Expectations" is rightly part of movie legend, but fewer people have probably seen the 1989 miniseries created by Disney, where she took on the role of Miss Havisham. This clip presents the first meeting Young Pip (Martin Harvey) has with Estella (Kim Thomson) and Miss Havisham. Jean shows up a little less than four minutes into the clip. However, I included the extra scenes at the beginning of the clip so you can compare this version of Estella with Jean's earlier version (if you have it in your memory). Also, in the beginning of the clip, that's Frank Middlemass, as Uncle Pumblechook, escorting Pip to the meeting.
This is a really good book..but it's hard to define because of the dialogue..since it was written in the 1800s

I loved the book. And when Miss Havisham burns on fire.....I cracked up and was sad too. But it was sooooo funny! <33333333

Its kinda creepy because estella is so much older than pip.

Estella is supposed to be the same age as Pip, Miss havisham's is not NEARLY secluded or overgrown with nature enough. Miss Havisham's lair on the other hand is exactly as i see it in the novel!

@citizenlen Not nasal, necessarily, but pretty odd -- and certainly not natural-sounding!

Kim Thomson is a fine actress. She was superb as Kitty Winter in 'The Illustrious Client'.
Thanks for uploading.
