Monday, November 17, 2008 - When a big hotel on Mission Bay tried to evict sportfishing boats from a public dock, their owners called KUSI's Michael Turko. The battle continues tonight as lawyers try to sort it out, and Turko says on the dock it's become a bitter standoff.
For decades, five or six commercial sportfishing boats tied up at the dock behind the old Hyatt Islandia Hotel on Mission Bay. But last month they all got eviction notices, and now only two are left. They say they'll stay there and defy the hotel and it's new owners. Owners who say all they're doing is making progress.
