kids like to glorify it- if you were around during the Halo 2 days, everyone raged about how it was for noobs and there was no skill gap (just like they complained in Halo 3, and now in Reach). The multiplayer was amazing for its time, but by today's standard it would be considered a glitchy mess with too much auto-aim.
What made this game so memorable was because it was pretty much everyone's first console online fps.
