  • Check out the videos by stephenhayesuk. He does some very good grafting demonstrations.

  • Buddy, THANK YOU!!!! I've been looking on YouTube for demonstrations of grafting, but yours is the only one I can find that describes how to make (propagate?) the rootstocks.... I've got 8 dwarfapples that I got for free,end-of season(labels lost).I wanted to "convert" some of them to varieties my family likes better. But now I'm going to also cut one down below the original graft & try to grow some more rootstocks, too.Thank you for sharing this video (You're a good presenter, too)

  • thanks for the awesome video! kiwi as bro!

  • Great information on grafting and rootstocking. You really make it easy to understand.

  • Oh, thanks!!!

This spring I will try to do something like that. I'll put cuttings in rooting hormone and then plant them in saw dust+soil. Will also try to root a apple branches, while still attached to the tree ;)

  • i think he said "free draining soils" and he means "saw dust" not soil dust.

  • Hi!

Does anyone know what he said at 3:32 , and what it means ?

As I understand it: you take a branch from dwarfing tree, that has the desired root system and put it in soil? And what is soildust?

    Thanks!
