Great information on grafting and rootstocking. You really make it easy to understand.

Oh, thanks!!!
This spring I will try to do something like that. I'll put cuttings in rooting hormone and then plant them in saw dust+soil. Will also try to root a apple branches, while still attached to the tree ;)

i think he said "free draining soils" and he means "saw dust" not soil dust.

Hi!
Does anyone know what he said at 3:32 , and what it means ?
As I understand it: you take a branch from dwarfing tree, that has the desired root system and put it in soil? And what is soildust?
Thanks!
Check out the videos by stephenhayesuk. He does some very good grafting demonstrations.

Buddy, THANK YOU!!!! I've been looking on YouTube for demonstrations of grafting, but yours is the only one I can find that describes how to make (propagate?) the rootstocks.... I've got 8 dwarfapples that I got for free,end-of season(labels lost).I wanted to "convert" some of them to varieties my family likes better. But now I'm going to also cut one down below the original graft & try to grow some more rootstocks, too.Thank you for sharing this video (You're a good presenter, too)
