  • Ah. Sad. I'd figure you to be a writer (in fact, I did see in I think part 2, maybe part 3, that you said the same...but that was after this comment)

  • My thought: It's very interesting. Something I could delve into. I'd actually suggest, however, that you start it as a novel series, then adapt it into a movie series. Why? It's easier to get into publishing, it costs less (movies are more of a gamble) and you can always adapt it to film afterwards.

  • You know, everything not covered in the movies you could release for some good sci-fi authors to write books about. Make it to where you approve what is being written, and you get royalties for it as well. Just a thought.

  • Sounds pretty cool.

  • I hope you take that as I meant it, as constructive criticism and as help from experience and not as an insult. It was not stated as one.

  • Also, "fixing in production" translates as expense and wasted time on set. Never say that, especially if you are a first time pitch. It sounds like you don't know what you are talking about.

They are more likely to try to get you to let their writers "help" you with it... take your scrip out from under you and rewrite it with you only getting an original idea credit.

  • You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

However, I was in the industry and am a screenwriter and playwright. Trying to sell something with bad dialog with a "pitch" of, we can fix that in production. Is a HUGE red flag. One that could mean a bomb. If the dialog does not work, the film never will. It is the difference between a good film and a farce.

  • Are you having this read aloud to you by others? It helps, more than you can imagine. Also, make sure you are protecting your work.

  • Can I ask what works you see as having major influences on you?
