On January 9, 2009, Demos, a national, non-partisan public policy center, in partnership with Essential Information and the Consumer Education Foundation, hosted a full-day conference entitled "Beyond the Meltdown: Regulatory Reform of the Financial Sector." The event featured a series of panels with leading national and international experts in the fields of economics and finance.
In this first panel, Bob Kuttner, Harvey Rosenfield and Damon Silvers discuss the role of the financial sector and financial regulation in the U.S. economy, and answer questions from the audience.
