download itunes at: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

1. Click on ipod in devices menu
2. Check Manually manage music and videos
3. Uncheck open iTunes when ipod is connected
4. Click apply
5. Go to library, click on one song, ctrl-a
6. Drag and drop on to ipod selected
