An unusual transportation option in the small Spanish white town of Mijas.

Getting There/Directions:
Mijas is approximately 30 km from Malaga amidst the mountains.
Car - Car Rental is available from Malaga.
Train/Bus - Take train to Fuengirola from Malaga and then bus to Mijas.

Before you laugh, this is one of Mijas' transportation options. New York has yellow cabs, Bangkok has tuk-tuks, and Mijas has burro taxis. These licensed drivers are ready to take you for a ride.

In the past, these burro taxis were used for transporting lime and marble from quarries to the coast. Later, as that need went away, burro taxis were born.
