Well, you're both right. He does have a point in that Deantoni was never hired to be a permanent replacement, he was filling in until they found someone (turned out to be Pridgen).

Deantoni parks is NOT the new drummer for the Mars Volta.
He is however doing some work with Omar on his solo records.
Thomas Pridgen is the current TMV drummer.

I will always wonder if Deantoni would've worked out with the Mars Volta. Maybe Omar is thinking of doing some of his solo work.
