A band from St. Louis whose heyday was in the early '80s, when they released several fine LPs, but like The Searchers before them, their "comeback" produced work that was superior to that of their heyday, IMHO. Fools Face's album from 2002 is a real gem, and it was my honor to host them at IPO Los Angeles 2002, where they played the entire album. "Fortunate Flowers", with Jimmy Frink's passionate vocals, Revolver-esque guitars, and overall warmth, is a miracle; it's not only my favorite song on International Pop Overthrow Vol. 5, but it's my favorite song in IPO CD history!
