Andrea, Devon and Mel find themselves with a new flatmate when Devon accidentally breaks a vase he finds under their flat and appears to release God. Or is there something more going on than meets the eye.

Urban Numina is a zero-budget comedy webseries shot on Flip Minos and edited using iMovie 11. The goal of the series is to show that low budget equipment is not a restriction on creativity, but rather that such basic tools can be used for a first-time film-maker's initial project.

  • The editing in this video is superbad. The girls are funny, pity about the horribly lame wish fulfillment fantasy that doubles as a plot device in the story. The woman playing Jenna has real talent, as does both the other woman in the story. However, this is all horribly overshadowed by the craptacular script and obvious writers wet dream about having a naked greek god with no clothes turning up in his house.

  • @Ithkrall That's an interesting take on the story. I take it you haven't read the creator blog where I discuss the conception and development of the series. It will be interesting to see if you retain the same view of the storyline and Deus by the end of the season. :)

As for the editing, if there are any areas you can point out to me, I'm alway appreciative of advice on how to improve the series. I disagree on your comments regarding the script, obviously, but everyone has different tastes.

  • Well as a teaser for the episode I'm currently editing... Episode Two: Devon. Deus is haunted by visions of a woman in green. Andrea, Carey and Mel try to work out what is going on. Devon is forced to confront his attraction to Deus.

  • @seriouslyent You mean that scene wasn't meant to be funny? How is Devon anything more than comic relief? Hes like "The Office" awkward and that scene 4 minutes in is probably the most painful romantic dialogue ever written. I honestly thought they were going for cringe comedy with this.

  • Congrats @UrbanNumina! Looking forward to checking out the rest of the season.

  • @Ithkrall you know, you're quite rude. Perhaps you could be more constructive if you're going to give that kind of feedback. I really enjoyed it, enough to watch all four episodes in one go. It was interesting to see a gay main character in something who wasn't being used as the plucky comic relief.

  • @UrbanNumina No one should have to read the creators blog to understand the story. As for editing, it just jumps all over the place in dialogue, sound levels are messed up and uneven. Overall, very poor flow and schitzoid pacing.

  • Sooo excited to see the mischief they get up to next ep. Such a talented cast :P

  • Can't wait to see what happens between Devon and Deus!!
