Competitive Cyclist's review of the SRAM XX Brakes. The new XX brake, at 288 grams is Avid's lightest ever. Lightweight and
powerful never felt this good.

  • I hate SRAM xx. I have world cup breaks on my specialized s works epic and the first ride on my new bike the levers snapped off.

  • My xx brakes needed bleeding when new, but have worked perfect after that. Using them om a Mondraker Foxy with 160/180mm disc's. They are as powerful as the R1,s on my other bike.

But have also talked to other people who have problems. Usually sorted after a good bleed :)

  • You know, from the LBS, from people who ride them, from people in the reviews section on MTBR, I have only heard bad things about XX brakes. They tend to say that they're not worth the money and that they're just a way to have a bunch of XX stuff on it from Sram. I've also heard that they are not very powerful at all. This video looked like a sale rather than a review

  • I've yet to see any criticism in any of CC's reviews. Do they only review perfect things?
