After the aforementioned Dial commercial, we continue the game of square pegs, shin guards, and a ten-gallon aquarium.

Hey, the board refers to the prizes as "gifts" -- it never said that some of them wouldn't be "I stopped at the drug store on my way over"-caliber.

Includes a commercial for Nabisco's Premium saltine crackers, pitched by Carol Reed -- a woman who I'm guessing the home audience recognized on sight (or voice), because I certainly didn't recognize her. Then again...

  • How wonderful that this episode still exists! Sadly, NBC "wiped" pretty much every episode of this game show - and this version was on for 15 years. Luckily this one has survived. Too bad the following episode most likely does not - now we won't know who won this puzzle.

Thanks so much for posting this gem!

  • Actually, I heard that this version's entire run is intact, and held by NBC.

  • Wow, Hugh Downs really talked a lot during this episode. :-)

  • Wasn't Carol Reed a "Weather girl" at a New York TV station in the late 1950's and through the 1960's???

  • Bob was really good at remembering stuff, but he really sucked at solving the puzzle. Either that, or he knew the answer (misery loves company), and just wanted to milk the board dry, Wheel of Fortune style.
