I met this same guy on October 1, 2006; very polite but firm; 100Rs per day of trip. I told him I'd do the circuit in 12 days, which was the minimum he'd accept. On Oct 16th, they checked me again, saw the receipt saying 1200Rs, did the math, but let me through anyway. Their country, their rules.
