  • @shadowkitty56 Naturally there have allsoe been good kings but anyone who is equal or better then Elizabeth?

    That will be diffucult.

  • @TheIcelandicPatriot but it is arguable that the tide of history was against him: by then, France as a country had begun to coalesce and congeal so the only thing left was to cosy up to Isabella and Ferdinand.

Also, Edward I. A great warrior abroad and at home, good. Here was a man who adored his wife. He used to make his chambermaids pay ransom to get him out of bed so he could spend the weeks after Lent with his Eleanor. Lord knows he was wild for her: pregnant 16 times!!

  • @TheIcelandicPatriot There were a few good kings that England had. In fact, I suspect Elizabeth might get some of her temperament from her grandfather, Henry VII. It was Henry Tudor who brought stability at last to Britain after the War of the Roses. It was Henry who brought 2 houses wrought asunder together by marrying Elizabeth of York, and (unusual for the times) he seems to have genuinely loved her and wasn't interested in mistresses. he wasn't too good on foreign policy, (cont)

  • is there a part 2 to this ? if so please link me
