They don't seem that close, thanks to the "spider sense" you develop as a rider. You begin to react before it happens. Remember, you're invisible to cars! And spring is coming. RANT BELOW *points to next paragraph*

Car drivers: Please, please, please look twice. Don't assume no one is there and begin to go and THEN look. No more of this ready, fire, aim business when you're driving. Put down your dang phone and LOOK at the road. And actually see what's around you. Remember to look for pedestrians, bicycles, and motorcycles (and children and animals, etc.). Don't just zone out and assume the road is clear simply because your quick sideways glance caught no car-shaped object.

The geese, though... That was just funny.

  • Yea no shit. Dont have a leadlight and you wonder why people dont see you. Geeee i wonderrr.

  • @M50SNIPER ??

  • @lauriejennifer People aren't going to see you that well without a headlight at night?

  • @M50SNIPER I have a headlight. In fact, you can see me putting on my glove, standing in front of my bike in the light of the headlight at 0:55

  • should give his number plate to the police and the footage. if he does get into trouble he wont know he did anything wrong.

  • @jason23189 I'm not the snitching type. That stuff comes back and bites you. Who wants to live in a society with a bunch of tattletales? The prison guards want the prisoners to bicker amongst themselves, you know what I mean? Kind of a bit political, I know... /rant

lol its not about snitching or 'taking the high road' its about making that person realise they have done something wrong. next time he pulls out in front of someone he might kill them... its about common sense... Once you bored of that elevated horse maybe you will realise. if i pulled out on someone like that id want to know about it so i could avoid doing it again...

  • Holy crap, what the hell happened in these comments??? Sheesh.... Anyway, in regards to the video. Cagers amaze me everyday. If you don't develop that "sense" you're talking about, you'll get hit.

  • when this happens while i am riding or even in a car i pass them middle finger in the air, sometimes pass in the shoulder.... yes i hate non driving motha f'ers

  • @dodgerider26 Do me a favor and don't live. I do have good observational skills I just didn't watch the part where she gets in front and the headlight shows. But you didn't know that because your observational skills are considerably lacking. That and the fact that you drive a Dodge. Well. Someone's smart.

  • @PedAdvocate Awesome video, though I didn't agree with their assessment of every situation.

  • @dahveed284 P.S. My full size F150 with headlights and foglights on weighs 5,000lbs and yet I had a driver literally come over into my lane and hit me during the daytime. Guess what she said? "I didn't see you".

I watched her do it... she never turned her head to look, not even once. When she started to move over I increased my speed so she wouldn't hit me (she was right next to me and a driver was behind me who hadn't been paying attention). She barely clipped my rear bumper.

  • @dahveed284 I ride about 10,000/yr in traffic. I am very well aware how much my defensive riding can prevent most issues. Not everything is preventable, though much of it is. And re: your other comment below... my new bike is less noticeable than my last so I also recognize that and changed my riding accordingly. I just remember 15 years ago before cellphones there wasn't nearly this level of stupidity. I don't know if I should blame phones or an ever lowering IQ in the country.

  • @dodgerider26 BTW, I'm not critiquing anyone here, simply pointing out that getting mad at cagers that pull out in front of you isn't the best use of anger. If you have lots of people pulling out in front of you, perhaps you should change something on your bike.

  • @dodgerider26 Its an attitude Dodge. The only thing you can control is YOU. So do you go riding and get angry about all the close calls you had or do you modify you're riding so you do NOT have close calls? Nearly every wreck can be prevented. The close call I had last year could have been prevented by me, even though it was a truck that pushed me off the road.

Getting mad at cagers that pull out in front of you serves no purpose. Learn to recognize dangerous situations and plan for them.

  • @dahveed284 So if I'm riding down the road doing 50 in a 45 and I'm in the right hand lane and a truck comes up behind me doing 95mph and hits and kills me... that's my fault? If she rides foolishly she takes responsibility for that. If a car pulls out IN FRONT OF HER it's their fault. I agree we bikers need to take extra caution, but at some point things happen that are the cars fault and it's beyond our ability to prevent all of it. As much as I'd like I can't control everyone.
