Maoris have the highest rate of abuse related child head trauma in the world and the second highest rate of child murder. Maori academics tell us it's the result of 'post colonial sress disorder' and the low socio-economic position they occupy. However other groups such as Pacific Islanders occupy a lower postion and child murder is nearly unheard of.

Those traits are clearly evident in their descendants.

@emochuu Maoris are catered to in scools and govt institutions more than any other race by far. No other race receives endless handouts for alleged injustices from another century, seats in Parliament based on race, unelected council seats allocated on the basis of race and still Maoris fail in droves and fill our prisons due to an inherent lack of intelligence and a culture that celebrates non-acheivement and criminal acts.

@MoralInvasion Dude, how dumb are you??? People are just "born violent" or "born dumb" (although you may be an exception). Maori make up a high number of prisoners because we don't care enough to stop them ending up in prison. We don't cater to Maori at school, we expect them to learn in the Pakeha world and just deal with it. You're an EGG.

Because Euros went in their, got rid of existing social hierarchies, imposed their own, striped the country of all natural resources, sold people as slaves and then in the 20th century left without bothering to set up new institutions for self-governance. The British also wanted to send the convicts to New Zealand but soon found out the Maori were too resistant and strong and then decided to send them to Australia. Maori had mastered close combat fighting and experts around the world rank the traditional Maori warrior as one of the best warriors in history, especially considering they did not have access to metal weaponry. Even with muskets, the British soldiers didnt achieve a decisive victory over the part time Maori warriors.

@ddk248 I suggest you learn the proper history of New Zealand you piece of shit. Do some research into why the British wanted to come here in the 1st place, the orders from Queen Victoria and the situation before the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi where the white man was causing the lawlessness ruckus in Aotearoa. Maori outnumbered the British 250,000 to 2,000 when the Treaty was signed and if the Maori knew their agendas, they would have erasedd them in an instance, even without muskets.
