Three Train Meet at Cresson Summit: Helpers, Amtrak, Stacks, Etc!

June 10, 2008: Helpers, Amtrak, and Stacks, all in a matter of minutes. 10N has helpers on both front and rear, and as pulling into a stop at CP-MO, Amtrak whizzes by. As 10N gets the go, the train throttles up and gets moving when 25Z starts heading down hill.
I was lucky to catch a blue helper on both ends, 10N has:
NS SD40-2 3336 "CRQ"
NS SD40-2 3353
NS D9-40CW 9899
NS SD70M-2 2765
NS SD40-2 3363

NS SD40-2 3359
NS SD40-2 3375 "CRQ"

Amtrash has P42DC 195 (who cares)

I could not see 25Z's power.

I don't like Amtrash Pig42DC's; F40PH's were the engine. The Dash-8's and F59PHI's are cool, so is Acela and the AEM-7's. Virginia Railway Express is my favorite.

@gtw4918, not quite true...NS rotates the other SD40-2's into the helper pool periodically, so there are blue ex Conrail units that show up in the helper pool from time to time.

Yea I'm not sure when they yanked the 3336, but all I know is that its SURE not there now. Last time I saw the 36 was back in February.

No, 3347 is the last on the helper pool. There are still 35 blue sd40-2s on norfolk southern.

OMG! Why is my Blue 36 squealing horn! IT SOUNDS AWFUL!! But man, i sure you took photos galore to this baby in charge, knowing you Eric Thank god my Super 38 ( now puked on black.. ) didnt have that kind of horn. Mike Antal's little baby is the one thats still living large at blue, comes with one kickass RS-3L too. Shame that 16E had to ruin 10N out on this slope..
