If any one is interested in learning the historic background of the Barbary Coast Corsairs, I can recommend two books. One is a purely historic account by the author Robert C. Davis "Christians Slaves, Muslim Masters". The other is a novel dealing with the same subject by Rafael Sabatini, "The Sea Hawk".

Sorry to see that you are so Islamaphobic. There is good and bad in all people regardless of religion or nationality. People have been killed for not being Christian enough, Jewish enough, Roman enough. Blacks in the US were killed because they were not "white" enough or even human enough. @Sulrin As bad as european slavery was it only existed for a few hundred years and the blacks today have equal rights,the europeans had to force the muslims to abolish it in the last century,saudia arabia only done this in the 1960s,however if you ever read arabian newsprints you will still see how foreign maids are routinely unpaid,tortured,raped,murdered or commit suicide,also slavery exists in Mali,Mauritania,Sudan,parts of Yemen and even 8% of Nigers population are currently enslaved
