Lyrics and Music by: Hunter Ackerman
Direction and Cinematography by: David Marroquin
Produced by: Captain Daryl Russell

Cast: Hunter Ackerman, Chris Molina, Brittany Rice, Woody Lovell

Verse 1:
I stand guard over your bed watch out for things that bite
Out here in the desert bad things go bump in the night.
Talk in a way I've never heard and chant their ancient rites
A year spans 20 months here, and 1001 Arabian Nights.

Verse 2:
Some jump in first as a Marine, some serve LAPD
Some guys train the bomb squad, Josh Cullins did all three!
Defusing explosives since he was just a pup
So if you see Cullins running make damn sure you keep up.

Bridge 1:
We lock our gaze forward into the Devil's Eye.
Rifle in hand, gas mask in reach, Oorah our battle cry!
Long as this wheel's turning, I'll keep step, I'll be a cog
I just need to hear you've got my back, can't see home through war's fog

Pre Chorus:
Your feet will never pound alone... And soon we will say welcome home...
Chorus 1:
Welcome home

Verse 3:
One day of rest on even ground, mind is rolling down a slant
Like hearing from the one's we've lost and knowing that we can't.
There is the way it's supposed to be, then there's the way it is
I don't know whose way this one is, but God knows it ain't his.

Bridge 2:
You'll never hear in (poetry) or read in the legends penned.
No IED hurts near as bad as the one that hits a friend.
Men I've known, brothers we've lost, Even a warrior's heart gets sore
But I will march beside you as long as there is war.

Pre Chorus:
Your feet will never pound alone... And soon we will say welcome home...
Chorus 2:
Welcome home Chorus out:
Your feet will never pound alone...
Head first into the battle zone... They'll write your name in our country's Tome... And soon we will say welcome home... And soon enough we'll all sing welcome home... And soon enough we'll all sing welcome home...

  • "If the worst should happen, I feel much better knowing that people at home are thinking of us and what we're doing. It makes it easier to get through my day feeling so supported." -Josh Cullins 1982-'10

I've been going over this phone call again and again in my mind the past few days, and the only thing I know to do now is make sure as many people who need that support may share it. So please join us in re-posting this video where ever you can and most importantly: Think of Josh when you do.

  • It is with regret and great sorrow that I announce the death of U.S. Marine and Los Angeles Police Officer Josh Cullins, who was killed in action on October 18, 2010, in Afghanistan. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. I pray that God has welcomed Josh home.

  • beautiful project and song. I'm very sorry to hear that Josh passed away, he must have been such a brave man. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

  • Now when I think about my wonderful nephew Josh, this song hangs hauntingly in the background. It reminds me that there are still many more men and women out there giving their all every day. They prove to me dailly that our freedom is still very precious, and worth fighting for. He gave his all, and will live forever in our hearts...Love is never meant for us to keep but rather, for us to spread out amongst those who need us the most. There is no greater love...Aunt Kim Cullins Sessions
