  • first thing he sees a guy with a camera wtf???

  • @NanoSnax Actually, the first thing SHE saw was the guy who, as part of a conservation endeavour, protected her and her clutch mates from predators by installing a concealed nest cage (and yes, I had a camera...).

  • @TheTurtlelover09 That's a messed up situation; no wonder they grow up shy, angry and snap at everything. Lack of a parent gives them self esteem issues.

  • @DTM1864 turtles dont nurse, the mothers leave them and they have to find food on their own

  • so adorable.

  • So sad the mother left him there. How is it going to nurse?

  • How cute!!!! softshell is one of my favorite turtles

  • I've got those guys all over the place in my lake (Ski Lake in Alabama) I lie on my pier, and watch them catch fish in the shallows for hours.

They're shy of people, but have bad eyesight. I;'ve been floating on a raft, when one would check me out, (see if I was hiding baby fish, I guess) then swim off!

  • Why does it look like it was born on a SW beach?

These are FW animals, though they do frequent brackish water.

  • Definitely not impressed with his first sight of the world. Haha.

    Very nice Ryan.
